Alex Gershell is a 2027 C with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from New York, NY who attends Collegiate. Works from a medium frame with broad shoulders and room to add more strength as he continues to physically mature. Primary catcher, starts in a squared stance and gains some ground on the transfer. Works into a shorter arm path and cross-body release. Kept the throws around the bag. Recorded arm strength up to 63 mph with a pop time of 2.25 sec. Right-handed hitter, starts in an even base with tight hands and a high back elbow. Utilized a toe-tap trigger for timing and worked into an uphill bat path. Created some strength at the point of contact when timed up. Recorded an exit velocity of 74 mph. Ran an 8.20 sixty-yard dash. Great student.
