Eli Rice is a 2029 MIF/RHP/3B with a 5-6 130 lb. frame from Bogart, GA who attends North Oconee. Slender young build. Runs very well for his age, 7.19 in the sixty. Primary middle infielder on defense, has active feet and comes to the ball well, has an idea on his foot work and takes good routes to the ball, clean glove actions on the backhand, arm works well with developing carry. Also worked out in the outfield and showed easy athletic actions and a smooth arm action, made accurate one hop throws. Left handed hitter, hits from a balanced and slightly open stance with a small leg lift trigger, has some hand quickness and gets on plane well, stays behind the ball and works the middle of the field, showed good feel for the barrel and repeated his timing well, has a chance to be a nice hitter if he can get stronger. Took a turn on the mound, throws from a 3/4's arm slot with a well paced delivery that he repeats well. Fastball topped out at 70 mph with some arm side running life. Curveball had some downer shape, change up was a good pitch for him with nice sinking action. Has an idea how to mix and throws plenty of strikes. Is a good athlete in all areas who will keep improving in proportion to how much stronger he gets.
