Jean Paul Tamaya Carrascal is a 2025 RHP with a 6-0 160 lb. frame from Cartagena, BL. Large, athletic frame with long limbs and a high waist, leaner build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Right-handed pitcher, square set on the mound, hip turn at top of delivery and drives down the mound well; works quick and shows a clean arm stroke through the backside with a full arm path working to a high three-quarters release point. Fastball topped out at 89 mph, creates nice angle out of the hand with some life through the zone, occasional cut action to the pitch and works away from hitters. Worked around the zone and able to miss bats and induce weaker contact early on. Maintains arm/hand speed on slider, 10-4 shape with sharpness when released out front, up to 79 mph in this look. Nice potential in third offering with changeup, sinking life to it up to 80 mph. Nice three pitch mix with physical projection remaining. Named to the PG Colombia Top Prospect List.
