Tanner Kees is a 2026 C/MIF with a 5-11 185 lb. frame from McKinleyville, CA who attends Arcata. Strong medium build. 7.50 runner in the sixty. Primary catcher on defense who also has arm talent on the mound. Works from a side straddle stance and gets the ball out quick with a strong, quick arm and was accurate on throws down. Explodes out of the crouch well. Posted a pop time of 1.85 seconds. Also threw on the mound. The right-handed pitcher works from an abbreviated windup from the first base side of the rubber with a short little step to a quick belt-high leg lift. Three- quarter arm slot working direct to the plate. Threw strikes with all three of his pitches. The fastball was up to 86 and showed the feel to spin the slider (2405 RPM) in the upper-70s and a change-up (1723 RPM) in the mid-70s. Switch-handed hitter starts from a medium base with open feet and utilizes a hanging leg lift. Middle-of-the-field to pull-side approach with solid bat speed. Mirrored set up. Flashes of strength in the swing. Hit well in game action adding a double into the right-center field gap. Exciting player with upside in every facet of the game. Good student. Named to the PG High School All-State Select Championships Top Prospect List.
