Trent Holst is a 2027 RHP/SS with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Turner, ME who attends Leavitt Area. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean build with room to fill throughout and develop moving forward. Ran a 5.20 40-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, up-tempo pace to delivery, leg lift up to chest at start of delivery and works into a longer arm action through the backside out to a high three-quarters release point. Lands on line coming down the mound, fastball topped out at 82 mph and projects nicely with present arm speed through release; showed nice running life to both sides of the plate and gets on hitters quickly. 11-5 shape to curveball up to 67 mph and throws it with conviction, showed biting life with medium depth to it, occasionally gets on the side and becomes more horizontal through the zone. Longer strides to the ball in the infield, young actions and will continue to refine overall actions, similar arm swing and works to a lower slot with accuracy. Right-handed hitter, begins with a wide base and a slightly open base with a high hand set in the box. Loads hands back deep at start of swing, shows strength at the point of contact when on time and does a nice job of creating separation out front, creates present bat speed through the zone too. Very good student. Named to the New England Indoor Top Prospect List.
