LATEST PG SHOWCASE REPORT
2024 Great Lakes Prospect Gateway
Pitching:
- A controlled and athletic mover on the mound with an in-sync delivery. Continue to focus on staying in sync; driving down the mound and using that back leg to drive through release will allow for a more online delivery through release.
- Showed a low- to mid-70s fastball. Focus on continuing to mix pitches and sequence well. Good sequencing will allow him to miss more bats.
- Shows good stuff and a repeatable delivery. Continued improvements to arm strength will come with age and maturity.
Infield:
- He moved about the infield with a developing feel for the footwork. Continue to focus on taking the feet to the baseball with good angles and momentum that will allow for a more fluid action working into release.
- Showed some feel for the glove, continue to work through the ball with the backhand and try to pick the ball working through it with more feel to sweep through, rather than being stabby with the glove at times.
- Threw 72 mph across the diamond. Continued improvements to arm strength will come with age & maturity.
Hitting:
- A medium base with an open stance and a bigger leg lift into it. Continue to use the leg lift and stride to stay on-line with the pitcher and create good leverage. The strength and leverage will allow for harder contact to all parts of the field.
- Showed a line-drive-oriented swing working through the middle of the field. Continue to focus on delivering the barrel on time and stay through it well. It will allow him to work through the middle of the field with hard-hit contact all over.
Micah, thanks for coming out to the 2024 Great Lakes Prospect Gateway event. You showed us some traits to like on both sides of the baseball. We look forward to seeing you again at another PG event soon.
