Ivan Magdaleno is a 2027 C/RHP, 2B, SS with a 5-4 125 lb. frame from Elgin, IL who attends Elgin High School. Recorded a 8.43 second sixty yard dash time. Lean, young frame with a compact build. Primary catcher, works from a squared start and is smooth out of the crouch. Gains ground well with a segmented transfer and a shorter arm action. Shorter release from the ear. Accurate around the bag as the drill progressed. Secondary middle infielder with a good first step and charges with intent. Shows the glove early with a clean funnel. Showed a good flight on throws and got the ball out quickly. Showed developing range and made the plays. The right-handed hitter starts from an even base with bent knees with high hands and a high back elbow, utilizes a quiet toe-tap trigger with minimal leg lift. Shorter to contact and stays in the legs. Line drive stroke that works the whole field. Intriguing player with good upside. Great student.
