Owen Pelstring is a 2028 C/RHP/MIF with a 5-9 165 lb. frame from Shorewood, MN who attends 276 Minnetonka. Compact young build with the beginnings of some present strength. Right handed hitter, sets up in a slightly open stance with a leg lift timer and some drift into his swing, line drive swing plane, well controlled swing with good balance and barrel control, line drive contact to all fields. 7.87 runner in the sixty. Primary catcher on defense, sets up square and narrow, has quick transfers, throws from a lower arm slot with one-hop accuracy. Also worked out in the infield with a similar low 3/4's arm slot and quick release, arm projects well at both positions. Took a turn on the mound, has a well controlled delivery and a 3/4's arm slot that he repeats well, has good arm speed. Fastball topped out at 82 mph and was thrown to spots with intent. Change up was a good pitch with late diving action and good arm speed. Good student.
