2026 PG California Workout Showcase (Sunday)
Eric Austin is a 2029 C/RHP/1B with a 5-9 155 lb. frame from Phoenix, AZ who attends Horizon Honors. Started the event off clocking a 7.57 60-yard dash. A primary catcher, secondary pitcher/outfielder. Behind the plate he shows a comfortable set up and presents with an athletic look. Transfers were clean, and the arm has has a shorter arm stroke. Best pop time to second base was 2.14. In the outfield, Austin does nice job getting to the baseball quick and working through it with confidence. Showed the ability to one hop the mitt being fairly accurate throughout the round. Has a wider stance at the plate with a pull side approach, which gets handsy at times. Found the barrel consistently and showed some gap power to both sides of the field. On the mound, has a 4-pitch mix that includes fastball, curveball, changeup and split finger fastball. Stretch only operation. Fastball has some arm side run and he locates it fairly efficiently. His secondary offering are still developing and needs command refinement. Elite student.
