Austin Johnson is a 2028 MIF/OF with a 5-9 147 lb. frame from Port Washington, WI who attends Port Washington. A lean build and slender frame with a high-waisted build. Ran a 7.71 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder who worked out at the positions with a longer and loose arm action on display. He had some whip to it with a feel to keep throws uphill and accurate across the diamond. Threw 76 mph across the diamond. He showed a feel for the footwork as well during his round, with some glide. He had projectable actions on the infield that showed. He also worked out in the outfield with a good feel for the movements and some athleticism. He had good intent to the actions with throws on a lower flight, showing some looseness to the arm action, slightly uphill and accurate around the bag at third and home. He shuffled into throws and moved to it well as he fielded it and comes through it. Threw 72 mph from the outfield during his round. Took BP as a right-handed hitter with a spread base, high hands, and the back elbow up. He had an even stance with a rockback load working into it. Loose stroke with some hand speed and bat speed to impact. He holds angles well in the swing and was able to show good bat speed working through it. Had good strength off the barrel with plenty of bat-to-ball skills. Took a good round of BP with projectable actions. Good student.
