Brandon Ruiz is a 2028 C/OF/RHP with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Tinton Falls, NJ who attends Red Bank Catholic. Medium frame with some strength present and plenty of physical projection remaining. Primary catcher, sets up in a narrow, side-saddled stance. Slower gather and stride into release. Separates into a medium arm path. Demonstrated developing athleticism and arm speed. Kept the throws around the bag. Recorded arm strength up to 68 mph with a pop time of 2.37 sec. Right-handed pitcher, utilizes a full wind-up delivery from the first base-side of the rubber. Hands break at the chin and into a deeper arm path. Releases the baseball from a stiffer low three-quarters slot. Displayed deliberate movements down the slope with an attempt to create extension out in front. Fastball is pretty straight with some natural heaviness; peaked at 65 mph. Curveball showed shorter vertical break with loose spin traits. Changeup was straight with some natural depth to it. Right-handed hitter, starts in a wider base with a high hand set-up and high back elbow. Utilizes a bat waggle and abrupt toe-tap trigger for timing. Remains short to the baseball. Struggles to get off his back-side at times. Flashed developing power to the pull-side when timed up. Posted an exit velocity of 76 mph. Ran a 7.45 sixty-yard dash.
