Rowan Deming is a 2028 C/RHP/1B/3B with a 6-3 205 lb. frame from Saint Paul, MN who attends Cretin Derham Hall. Big and physical build with very good present strength. 7.14 runner in the sixty. Primary catcher on defense, sets up square behind the plate, tends to stand up early, clean exchanges, has quick feet and gains ground well, can get rushed and fall off on release impacting his accuracy, has very good arm strength, will keep improving with repetitions and fundamentals. Right handed hitter, sets up in a spread and open stance with a big move into contact, swings hard and creates good bat speed, will lose connection with his wide finish and lower half turn, best contact was in the air to the pull side, bat speed and strength to keep improving as a hitter with adjustments. Took a turn on the mound, works from a standard side step and medium leg raise delivery, upright finish out front with a high 3/4's arm slot. Fastball was in the low 80's and was thrown for strikes. Killed the spin on his change up well with some fading life. Developing feel for his slider. Excellent student. Named to the PG Minnesota Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List.
