Clay Barran is a 2029 C with a 5-6 124 lb. frame from Decatur, AL who attends Decatur Heritage Christian Academy. Smaller very young build, lots of growing ahead of him. 8.13 runner in the sixty. Primary catcher on defense, tends to stand up early to throw, two-step process in his exchange, has good fundamental footwork and stays directional in his throws, developing arm strength. Left handed hitter, hits from a very wide stance with a small heel lift trigger, upper body rotational swing, lower half gets locked up from being spread, hands take a good path to the ball and he showed some barrel control.
