Jared Anderson -- Anderson is a projectable young sophomore athlete from Minnesota with a lean, high waist, long limbs and big feet. He has a strong swing for his age and every ball he hit during the 3 games was either a base hit or a good shot that was caught by an outfielder. Anderson looks like he’s going to have some power and it’s going to improve even more when he gets his lower half more involved in his swing. His actions at third base were solid and he projects out as a good third baseman. Anderson threw 3 innings and showed good stuff for a sophomore. He has an easy motion, good balance to his delivery and has an idea around the strike zone with all his pitches. With better lower half involvement, he’d throw harder, too. Anderson’s fastball topped out at 81 mph with some tail to it. His best pitch was a 76 mph slider that had late action to it and he also threw a sweeping 67-69 mph curveball. We liked his aggressiveness and style of play on the field, too. Anderson is a very good student.
