2024 Fall East Coast Workout Showcase (Friday)
Bryan Pena is a 2029 3B/C with a 5-5 143 lb. frame from Sinking Spring, PA who attends Wilson. Medium, compact frame with plenty of room and time to physically mature. Recorded a 8.56 second sixty-yard dash time. Primary infielder with a developing defensive skill set. Displayed ability to take proper angles to get to spots with deliberate footwork and pace. Showed a clean funnel out in-front and worked through the baseball well, produced fairly accurate throws up to 66 mph across the diamond during drills. Secondary catcher that receives from a slightly side-saddle stance with softness to his hands. Gains some ground towards his target, slightly round midline transfer and produced online, accurate throws with developing arm strength up to 59 mph from behind the plate during drills. Right-handed hitter that hits from an even based stance with a high, slightly wrapped hand set and leg lift trigger. Incorporates rotational lower half mechanics to create some bat speed, while staying compact with his hands into launch. Middle-of-the field approach with consistent bat-to-ball skills and developing impact potential. Will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments and additional strength.
