Joshua McCormick is a 2027 RHP/1B/IF with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Glendale, AZ who attends Ironwood. Features a medium-sized build with room to add strength/atheticism. Ran a 8.24 60-yd dash. In the INF, showed developing actions. Waits back and abruptly gets set into a fielding position that has a slightly higher chest. Some late stab to the glove actions. Medium arm path to release where he got off accurate throws across with avg. strength for his level. At the plate, sits in a wider closed base with higher set hands. Bigger sway into backside with an early toe tap trigger. Shows a longer/flatter bat path with a lower finish exhibiting avg. bat speed for his level. Inconsistent barrel feel, timing and impact during his BP round. On the mound, he showed some quality upside. It's a loose/continuous arm action to a 3/4 slot within an easy effort operation. Simple lower-half moves with a shorter stride that lands on-line. Ran the FB up to 81, living in the upper 70s that exhibited some natural cutting action. Mixed in a developing upper 50s breaker with loose spin.
