Ely Martinez is a 2027 SS/RHP, C, 2B, 3B with an athletic 5-7 158 lb. frame from Durham, CA who attends Durham HS. Started off the event clocking a 7.53 60-yard dash. A primary shortstop that pitches as well. At the plate he showed the ability to barrel up the baseball using a short, compact stroke with a direct path to contact. Had a mature approach and was able to use the whole field. On the dirt, Martinez made the required plays working through the baseball and delivered crisp throws showing solid accuracy across the diamond. On the mound he features a 2-pitch mix (FB, CH) out of a high 3/4 slot. Shows fundamentally sound mechanics with a repeatable delivery. Showed a heavy diet of fastballs and relies on location to produce outs. The majority of the hitters have been out front and was inducing inducing week fly balls. Good student.
