Jason Taylor is a 2006 OF/MIF from Floyd Kellam HS in Virginia Beach, VA, with a 6'1", 195 lb. frame. Taylor is a very good athlete who combines speed and arm strength and the ability to play defense all over the field. He ran the 60 in 6.69 and was 4.42 down to first base from the right side. Taylor has very good arm strength at 86 mph and is still learning how to reign in his arm strength and make accurate throws, perhaps a function of playing multiple positions. Taylor is listed as a primary outfielder but he's also played plenty of infield and we were impressed with his actions on the infield defensively. He should definitely keep playing infield as much as possible. Offensively, Taylor has very good bat speed. He has a nice weight shift to the ball, with high hands and wide stance and shows the potential to really develop some power in the future. The ball jumps of fhis bat with authority now. With his raw tools and athletic ability Taylor has a great upside. Sleeper who could end up really surprising some people.
