J Kelly Fagen is a 2028 C/RHP/MIF with a 6-0 160 lb. frame from Lowell, IN who attends Andrean. Lean young athletic build with lots of room to get stronger. Right handed hitter, starts from a spread stance with a big leg raise trigger, gets his foot down on time and engages his lower half well to create leverage and bat speed, stays short through the ball and has solid bat speed, ball comes off the barrel well, good swing with lots of projection for his age. 7.93 runner in the sixty. Primary catcher on defense, sets up comfortably and comes out of his crouch well, tends to gain ground into the right handed batter's box as he throws, compact arm action from a high arm slot, made accurate throws with developing arm strength. Also worked out in the infield with third base actions. Took a turn on the mound, works exclusively from the stretch, moves well down the mound with some lower half drive to the plate, throws from the same high 3/4's arm slot he uses in the field. Fastball topped out at 74 mph to go with a 11/5 curveball and change up, threw strikes and induced plenty of ground ball contact. Excellent student.
