Gavin Ares is a 2028 OF/RHP/1B with a 5-6 145 lb. frame from Lithia, FL who attends Tampa Catholic. Smaller young build. 7.75 runner in the sixty. Primary outfielder on defense, fields off to the side with a one hand funnel, higher arm slot with developing arm strength, had a good idea on his footwork and made accurate throws. Right handed hitter, starts from a balanced base with a early shift to his front side, slashing swing plane with mostly pull side contact, bat speed will continue to improve with additional strength. Also pitched, works from the stretch with a high leg raise over the rubber and a deep arm action in back, high 3/4's arm slot, fast paced delivery that can get away from him at times. Fastball topped out at 72 mph, mostly for strikes. Also threw a soft curveball with developing feel. Good student.
