Logan Arena is a 2007 C/IF from Nipmuc Regional in Upton, MA, with a 5'7'', 160 lb. frame. He has a thick lower half and strong, compact defensive actions. Arena is a high energy catcher who blocked well in games and showed good arm strength. He tends to pull off to third base on his throws, which slows him down a bit, but he made good, accurate game throws. His best pop time was 2.09. Arena hits out of a wide stance with a big pull back load that often leaves him late to the ball. He's looking to pull the ball and will pull off balls on the inside part of the plate. Arena has some strength and bat speed and the ball comes off his bat pretty well. Shortening up his swing and making it compact and quick like his defense would move Arena in step in the right direction. He has the strength and bat speed to keep improving as a hitter. Arena plays hard and enjoys the game and is a good student off the field.
