Austin Hardison is a 2005 left handed hitting catcher from Alabama with long arms and legs. He’s listed at 6'1", 175 lbs., but could end up being a big and strong man when he matures. Hardison flashed some good physical ability at times, but is very raw in his baseball skills. He showed nice power at times, especially crushing a foul home run in one game, but is often tentative in his swing and just looking to make contact on the outer half instead of using his strength and leverage to drive the ball. Similarly, Hardison will flash his athletic ability and arm strength on defense at times, but has many fundamental flaws that keep him from using his natural ability. Keep an eye on him because he has a lot of potential, especially if he keeps getting stronger. We like the way he plays the game.
