Robert Catapano is a 2006 left handed pitcher from Knoxville, TN with a medium build at 5-11, 165 lbs. He has a good, full arm action and a nice balanced delivery with a high leg kick to start. Catapano throws a tailing fastball at 87 mph and works both sides of the plate with it. His curveball is a big breaker with very good depth at 68 mph. Catapano will vary the break between a wide sweeper and more of a downer curveball to present the batter different looks. His 76 mph change up has very good arm speed to it and is a nice pitch for him. Catapano has very good command of all his pitches and a good idea of how to use them in sequence. He's thrown many high strikeout games at WWBA events and his stuff has been very consistent with how he threw in Atlanta. Catapano should enjoy immediate success at the next level. He's a good student who has committed to North Carolina.
