Alex Detweiler is a 2014 RHP/1B with a 6-4 195 lb. frame from Sarasota, FL who attends Riverview HS. Tall, long lanky build with room to fill, high waist, projectable build. Pitches from a three quarter arm slot with a short arm action. Arm works well, loose arm action, strides towards glove side of the plate, slow start to delivery then speeds up late. 11-5 curveball with a lot of depth, raw mechanics but has an interesting arm with a chance to develop with tweaks. Keeps changeup down well, will be interesting to see how he develops, the physical tools are present. Swings the bat well for a pitcher, short load, loose swing, creates leverage, ball comes off the bat well, contact out front. Potential two-way ability at college level. Excellent student.
