Josh Ockimey is a 2014 1B/OF with a 6-4 220 lb. frame from Philadelphia, PA who attends Sts John Neumann and Maria Goretti Catholic HS. Outstanding athletic build, strong and projectable, resembles top Astros prospect Jonathan Singleton. Left handed hitter, very good raw bat speed and strength at times, loud line drive contact when squared, young hitting mechanics, bad body angle leaning in and lunges to front side early, low hand set to start swing, everything working against him but still manages to hit the ball hard, has high ceiling offensive tools with adjustments. 7.28 runner, moves well for his size defensively, good footwork around the bag, soft hands, playable arm strength. Follow closely for changes in hitting approach.
