Mark Hammel is a 2014 RHP with a 5-11 195 lb. frame from Cypress, TX who attends Cypress Woods HS. Strong physical build, mature look. Rotational delivery, long arm action in back, 3/4's arm slot, good arm speed, effort at release and tends to fall off hard to the first base side. Upper 80's fastball, topped out at 89 mph, fastball tends to be straight and up in the zone, fair slider with some depth when on top at release. Very good raw arm strength but would be better off throwing in the mid-80's with command/sink than upper 80's and up in the zone. Has the arm strength to keep improving with adjustments. Good student.
