Riley Ferrell is a 2012 RHP/3B with a 6-2 195 lb. frame from College Station, TX who attends A&M Consolidated HS. Slender upper half, strong lower half, good pitcher's build with some strength projection. Hand drop delivery, full deep arm circle, shows ball, some effort on release, 3/4's extended arm slot. Has toned down delivery in a positive way over the last year. Quick arm, fastball to 91 mph, consistent flat running action, very nice change up he could throw more often, short twisty slider with inconsistent release point, flashes sharp biting action. Works fast and competes. Shows nice athleticsm as an infielder, moves well, nice balanced actions, sound footwork, very good raw arm strength. Right handed hitter, narrow hitting base, swings hard, creates some bat speed, shows some pull power. Might have two-way potential as a third baseman at the next level. Good student, verbal commitment to TCU.
