Ben Welch is a 2014 RHP/3B with a 5-11 192 lb. frame from Seffner, FL who attends Strawberry Crest. Medium athletic frame with a solid build. Pitches with an over the top arm slot, with a deceptive delivery. Pitches to contact, locates his fastball well, and likes to get hitters to chase out of the zone. Has soft hands on the infield with footwork and has quickness to his actions. Has a slightly open crouched stance at the plate with an aggressive approach at the plate. Line drive swing plane with bat speed, stays inside the ball well and gets good extension. Is an exceptional student.
