Benjamin Lockman is a 5'8" second baseman with some good quickness and infield actions from Erdenheim, PA. He plays much faster than his 7.4-60 speed and was in the 4.3 to 4.4 (MLB ave.) range down to first base a couple of times. Lockman’s hands and release are quick and sure and he does a good job defensively. His arm plays well. On offense, Lockman is looking to make contact with wood with a short, slashy swing that gets him out of the box quickly. He hit very well in games, going 3-6 with 3 Rbi’s by hitting the ball where it was pitched and running hard. More strength is obviously going to help his all around game. He can play and will play at the next level. Benjamin is a very good student.
