Todd Richards is a 2005 LHP from Sequoyah HS in Canton, Georgia with a good, strong 6'2", 180 lb. frame. Richards has clean pitching mechanics with a high leg kick and it looks like he hides the ball well. He has a full arm circle in back and comes through and gets good extension out front. Richards fastball topped out at 85 mph in Atlanta and there looks to be plenty more there. His best pitch was a 75 mph change up that had very good deception and some fade and sink on it away from right handed hitters. Richards 71-73 mph curveball was very sharp at times and is a good compliment to his fastball/change up combination. He has three solid pitches from the left side and the ability to throw strikes with them. Richards can pitch successfully in the mid-80's with this package but if he gets a jump in his velocity, watch out.
