Kelvin Dews is a 2015 C/1B with a 6-0 210 lb. frame from Pflugerville, TX who attends Pflugerville HS. Big country strong build. Right handed hitter, upper half swing with limited lower half use except a negative shift to start swing, long and loose swing, upper body strength generates bat speed and power, some uppercut swing, ball comes off the barrel hard when squared, stands far off the plate in order to get extended. Has lots of hidden hitting tools that could play at the next level but will need adjustments to shorten and use that big strength. 7.27 runner, spread stance receiving behind the plate, low release point, starts open and strides open on throws, young footwork and catching mechanics, 2.14 best pop time. Obvious strength and athleticism to develop with patience and lots of coaching/repetitions. Good student.
