Satchel McElroy is a 2015 OF with a 5-7 170 lb. frame from League City, TX who attends Clear Springs HS. Short compact build with some present strength. 6.44 runner, impact speed and quickness, gets good jumps in centerfield and can run down balls, some arm strength with projection, can improve footwork working through the ball. Right handed hitter, low hand load, quick hands to the ball, loose swing with extension out front, simple solid overall approach, has some present bat speed with more to come. Has better physical tools at the same stage than brother C.J. (3rd round, 2011, Cardinals). Son of former MLB southpaw Chuck McElroy. Good student.
