Xavier Torres is a 2017 SS/2B with a 5-11 167 lb. frame from Marietta, GA who attends Marietta HS. Medium frame with an athletic build. Projects for additional size and strength while maintaining athleticism. Ran a 6.91 sixty-yard dash. Primary shortstop with smooth, fundamental footwork while surrounding the baseball. Generates good momentum through the baseball with clean funneling actions out front. Good range to each side with clean glove skills while fielding on the run. Released from a compact three-quarters arm slot that produced stiff carry across the infield, topped at 88 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, slightly open stance and simple front side trigger. Lower half works to contact with rotational actions creating occasional shift. Loose, naturally lifted swing plane through extension with a mid-field approach. Swings with extreme intent to drive the baseball with authority and created good jump off the barrel throughout batting practice. Named to the 2017 National Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List.
