Jay Shadday is a 2016 LHP/OF with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Rome, GA who attends Darlington HS. Slender athletic build, stronger in the lower half, projects well phyiscally. Very deep whippy arm action with some wrap in back, extended mid 3/4's arm slot, lots of deception in his delivery, has loose overall athletic actions. Fastball very steady at 85 mph, topped at 86 mph, mostly straight but can work it to both corners effectively. Curveball was initially big and sweeping at 71 mph, broke out shorter, sharper breaker later at 74 mph, harder curveball better offering. Change up has potential, released from near side arm slot at present and will have to get higher release point. Good bet to keep getting better and already has an effective pitching style.
