Ricardo Gonzalez is a 2016 SS with a 6-0 160 lb. frame from Boca Raton, FL who attends Boca Raton Community HS. Loose and projectable athletic build, long arms and legs. Right handed hitter, has quick hands at the plate, stays balanced and keeps his swing approach simple and direct, short and quick to the ball, has present bat speed with more to come, gap to gap power, ball comes off the barrel loud and hard. 6.80 runner, shows his speed on the bases and on defense, good arm strength on defense. Two-way prospect on the mound, easy low effort on line delivery, 3/4's arm slot with good plane on his fastball. Fastball topped out at 86 mph, lots more velocity there with additional strength. Curveball showed power and sharpness with late biting action. Commanded both pitches well. Very good young athlete who is going to keep improving in all areas. Good student. Named to the Showcase Top Prospect Team.
