Garrett Stallings is a 2016 RHP with a 6-2 200 lb. frame from Chesapeake, VA who attends Grassfield HS. Large physical build with good present strength, fairly mature physically. Side step/leg raise delivery, high 3/4's to over the top arm slot, compact arm action in back, quick and short arm stroke. Consistent upper 80's fastball gets on hitter's quickly, has good life and deception best when down in the zone. Four pitch arsenal, change up has nice arm speed and life from a degree lower release point than his fastball. Curveball has good depth with a 11/5 to 12/6 plane and has good feel for the pitch and throws it for strikes. Flashed a true slider with good tilt and late biting action when he throws it glove side. Showed feel for all his pitches and for how to use them, true starter's ability. Very good student, verbal commitment to Tennessee.
