Brandon Upton is a 2015 C/3B with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from League City, TX who attends Clear Springs HS. Medium athletic build, has some present strength with more to come. Right handed hitter, high hand set with a toe tap trigger, long loose swing with very good extension out front, creates bat speed and shows power and lift, gets the ball into the air and looks to drive it, live bat with a sound aggressive approach. 7.22 runner, showed prospect tools both in the infield and behind the plate. Soft hands receiving the ball, stays low and flexible, quick out of his crouch, good arm strength, 1.89 best pop in drills, 2.02 in game. Showed very good hands in the infield with a quick release and accurate throws, actions like a former primary infielder who has converted to catcher fairly recently. Also pitched, high 3/4's arm slot with hard acceleration to the plate, fastball topped at 81 mph, curveball flashed hard spin and late bite. Interesting athlete who could become an above average offensive catcher with his tools. Good student.
