Sean Keating is a 2016 LHP/1B with a 6-3 180 lb. frame from South Jordan, UT who attends Bingham HS. Large frame with lean, angular build, long-limbs and young look, plenty of room to fill out. Primary left handed pitcher, side step into leg lift delivery, some natural deception with slight hip turn. Hides ball well on backside, compact arm-action, releases from a high 3/4's arm slot. Fastball up to 88 mph with armside run and slight sink, shows ability to throw strikes with pitch. Breaking ball with sweeping 2/8 shape and short depth, still developing consistent feel. Also works in occasional straight changeup with some late dive. Also plays first base, arm strength plays well on throws across the diamond. Left handed hitter, low hand set with sweeping upper-body swing, has big-time strength. Quick hands, flashed good feel for barrel, noticeable and impressive carry to the pullside. Interesting two-way potential, still refining finer aspects of game, but high upside on both sides of the ball. Very good student.
