Colton Schultz is a 2016 MIF/3B with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Huntsville, AL who attends Huntsville HS. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present strength spread throughout frame. Ran a 6.92 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, takes short steps moving towards the ball, fields the ball out front with two hands, shorter arm action on throws across, pulls out front side on throws but gets on top of ball and shows strength, continued balance will help develop range. Lefthanded hitter, begins with an even stance and a high hand set and back elbow in the box. Line drive swing plane through the zone with sound bat speed and a simple, repeatable set of mechanics. Moves into contact well and shows carry when squared, line drive contact with comfort to hit to all fields. Very good student. Signed at Alabama-Birmingham.
