Tyler Benninghoff is a 2016 RHP with a 6-4 180 lb. frame from Overland Park, KS who attends Rockhurst HS. Tall and angular athletic build, very projectable physically, long limbs. Back turn delivery, high 3/4's arm slot with good downhill plane to the plate, loose and fast arm. Fastball to 92 mph, has nice life especially down in the zone. Power curveball up to 80 mph, hard and tight rotation with late break and 12/6 to 11/5 shape, best curveballs have big downer depth, changes hitters eye levels effectively with fastball/curveball combination. Rare change up. Dominant performance. Three sport athletic standout who has a very high ceiling when dedicated to baseball. Excellent student, verbal commitment to Arkansas.
