Jamaal Combest is a 2017 SS/OF/RHP with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Austell, GA who attends South Cobb HS. Medium frame with good athletic build throughout body, projects well moving forward. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.26 seconds. Switch-hitter, shows feel to hit from both sides. A bit more natural from the right side, starts with wide base and shows good ability to match plane of pitch with swing plane, giving him advanced contact ability with some strength. A bit deeper load from the left side, can turn the barrel well at times and shows the willingness to work the other way. Has quick feet in the IF, gets around the ball well and fields cleanly, quick release and arm action with good strength across up to 81 MPH. Also showed well in OF, showing athletic actions to and through the ball before showing good arm strength on throws up to 85 MPH. Also pitched, with shorter arm action to low three quarters slot, FB worked 76-80 and touched 81 MPH with good life. Up tempo delivery with some deception, creates good angle. Showed frisbee slider in upper 60's with quality shape.
