Ray Gaither is a 2016 3B/RHP with a 6-3 220 lb. frame from Coppell, TX who attends Coppell HS. Big and strong physical build, broad shoulders with long arms, mature physically. Very good straight line speed, 6.73 in the sixty, has strong defensive tools at third base with quick feet and lateral range, lots of arm strength and throws carry well, showed agility charging the ball. Right handed hitter, spread stance with a high hand load, rotational upper half swing, long and strong swing with some uppercut plane and good extension, can use his lower half better, has power in his zone. Two-way prospect who grades out as well on the mound at this point, big hip turn delivery, 3/4's arm slot with a compact arm action. Fastball to 92 mph with lots of fading life at times, works arm side but can get the ball to the glove side at times, hard curveball with good spin and bite, Flashed quality to his change up in a short look. Good student, verbal commitment to Dallas Baptist.
