Walker Powell is a 2015 RHP/3B, 1B with a 6-6 180 lb. frame from Fayetteville, AR who attends Fayetteville East. Extra-large, tall frame, long limbs, lean build, very projectable as he adds strength. Right handed pitcher, throws easy from an over the top arm slot and extended release. Will repeat delivery better with more repetitions on the mound. Able to generate downhill plane on his fastball which topped at 87 mph. Locates three pitch mix well. Curveball is out pitch at 70 mph, induces soft contact, and has a feel for a straight changeup. Athleticism plays in the infield, moves well on feet, smooth actions, gets on top of throws. Right handed batter, gets extension in swing, line drive swing plane, shows bat speed and solid coordination. Intriguing prospect to follow on the mound. Very good student. Named to National Underclass Session 3 Top Prospect Team.
