Kenny Mares is a 2014 RHP/OF with a 6-4 185 lb. frame from Del Mar, CA who attends Torrey Pines. XL frame, tall with a high waist and lean build. Pitches from a very high three quarters arm slot with a compact arm action. Creates downhill plane from high arm slot with good body control throughout delivery and some whip to arm stroke. 11-5 curveball with big depth, late fading action on mid 70s changeup. Commanded fastball well from second inning of work onward, maintains his velocity out of the stretch and fields his position well. Good student.
