Greg Larson is a 2008 RHP with a 6'8'', 200 lb. frame from Longwood, FL who attends Lake Brantley HS. He has an extra long and slender frame, with long arms and legs and minimal present strength. Larson keeps improving every time we see him and that was the case in Cincinnati. His velocity takes a steady tick up every time we see him, 84-86, then 86-88, then touching 90 mph, then in Cincinnati hitting 92-93 many times. You love to see that on a young pitcher who hasn't even begun to get strong yet. Larson has a clean delivery and throws downhill from a high 3/4's release point. He throws an 84 mph slider that is still a developing pitch; he commands it well but it has an early break and is pretty short in the strike zone. Larson's change up is starting to show some quality. He lacks deception in his delivery and overall stuff now but he's just starting to scratch the surface of his potential. Larson is a high ceiling talent and it will be interesting to follow his development. He is a very good student off the field.
