Alex Zhang is a 2016 OF/1B with a 5-10 195 lb. frame from Englewood, CO who attends Cherry Creek HS. Strong physical build, especially in the upper body. Left handed hitter, open stance with a big stride into contact, will pull off the ball with his hips at times, swings hard and has looseness in his swing, good bat speed, line drive swing plane, middle of the field line drive contact and has some gap power, can drive the ball when he stays directional and on balance, has some hitting tools. 7.30 runner, deliberate outfield actions, best position defensively is at first base. Bat is a good tool. Excellent student.
