Hayden Tapert is a 2016 1B/RHP with a 6-3 160 lb. frame from Monrovia, CA who attends La Salle HS. Large frame, tall, long lanky build with room to fill, projects well physically. Impressive athlete for frame, potential for significant improvement with natural strength gains. Ran a 6.79 60 yard dash and speed carried over into games as well. Showed pullside power with more to come in batting practice, good coordination of upper and lower halves in swing with good leverage to drive the baseball. Solid contact skills as well, aggressive hitter who used the whole field during game at-bats with good barrel control. Good athleticism around first base bag, good footwork and showed good carry on strong throws. Pitched from a high three quarters arm slot and was up to 79 mph with his fastball and paired it with a deep breaking 11-5 curveball. Good student. Named to the California Underclass Showcase Top Prospect Team.
