Justin Larrea is a 2021 LHP/OF with a 5-10 150 lb. frame from Queens, NY who attends HS for Construction, Architecture, and Engineering. Primary pitcher with a medium frame and lean build, room to fill out, 7.42 runner in the 60. Creates some degree of tempo in the delivery, uses the lower half with slight hip turn at the top of a high leg lift. Maintains good direction to the plate with solid driveline and balance. Small arm circle in the back hides the ball before delivering through a high 3/4 arm slot with an extended finish out front. Fastball shows a slight degree of arm side run and plane when thrown out front, sat in the middle 70's, topping at 77 mph. Curveball displays solid spin and 2/8 shape with bigger break. Added strength will enhance the ability to repeat the delivery consistently. Plays through the ball aggressively in the outfield, reads hops and creates momentum to throw, shows solid arm strength with online throws, slight carry and solid accuracy to the bases. Hits from a wider base with a slight closed front side and a lower hand set up. Uses a toe-tap trigger for timing with an aggressive rotational swing. Looks to drive the ball with slightly lifted swing path and upper body torque. Has a middle-of-the-field to pull-side approach and can create leverage in the swing with extension through contact. Presently grades higher as a hitter. Good student.
