2014 Spring Top Prospect Showcase
Sam Spadafore is a 2015 RHP with a 6-3 191 lb. frame from Liverpool, NY who attends Cicero-North Syracuse HS. Nice athletic build with good present strength. Standard leg raise delivery, medium length arm action in back, over the top release point, arm works very well from that slot with little upper body lean. Low 80's fastball, topped out at 84 mph early, mostly straight. Primary fastball pitcher, throws a short hand position slider, tends to fall off and slow his arm on his change up. Has a good arm and should add velocity, improving off speed pitches will be key to his development.
