Andrew Oliver is a 2006 LHP from Vermillion HS in Vermillion, OH, with a 6'3'', 200 lb. frame. He has a pro profile type of body with good core strength and some remaining projectability. Oliver has clean, low effort pitching mechanics that he repeats very well. His arm is loose and tension free and he has outstanding arm speed. Oliver's fastball sat at 89 mph with sink and run and he looked effortless in throwing this velocity. He threw a 74 mph slider for his breaking ball and this is a good, developing pitch as well. Oliver showed very good command, as you would expect from his delivery. He has unlimited potential as a left handed pitcher and will get plenty of attention from the pro scouts during his senior year. Top level national follow! Oliver is also a good student.
